Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC)

The Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) program provides students with comprehensive preparation for sitting for the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examinations from 2027 onwards, through intensive instruction. Regular assessments aligned with SEC examination syllabuses are conducted throughout the course to ensure student performance is monitored.

Compulsory Subject

• G3 English
• G3 Mathematics
• G3 Chinese
• G3 Higher Chinese

Selective Subject

• G3 Additional Mathematics
• G3 Science (Physics, Chemistry)
• G3 Chemistry
• G3 Physics
• G3 Economics
• G3 Principles of Accounts
• G3 Literature in Chinese

Students will choose 5-8 subjects based on the Compulsory and Selective subject.

*All classes will be conducted in a face-to-face manner.

• Age: at least 15 years old
• Language: Pass Secondary 2/Grade 8 English or equivalent level or 50% pass in ESIC's English placement test.
• Academic: Completed of Secondary 2/Grade 8 or equivalent qualifications.

Internal Assessments

• Monthly
• Termly
• Annually

Assessment will be conducted through theory and/or practical methods.

Certification

Upon completion of the program, students will receive an ESIC Certificate of Attendance.

• Local Students (Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents) and Dependant's Pass holders must achieve at least 75% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
• International Students (Student's Pass holders) must achieve at least 90% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
